Zerodha Varsity: Four Ways to Learn About Money
A free finance quiz, a student community, expert bootcamps and a Financial literacy specially for women.
QShala and Zerodha Varsity work together on four properties: the Zerodha Varsity Quiz; the Zerodha Varsity Tribe; Zerodha Varsity Bootcamps; and In Her Interest. Together they take financial literacy to students, professionals and communities across India, and the aim stays the same: to make money feel less mysterious and a lot more interesting.
1. The Zerodha Varsity Quiz
The Zerodha Varsity Quiz is a free finance quiz for school students, college students and corporate teams. It began in Bengaluru and now travels to 77 cities across 25 states. More than 300 quizzes have been played, with more than 65,000 participants.
Most of us learn about money late, and often by making mistakes. In a quiz, ideas like saving, investing, markets and risk become something to guess, argue about and remember. The quizzes build interest in financial literacy and financial independence, and each one is shaped for its audience, from the questions to the examples to the pace.
2. The Zerodha Varsity Tribe
The Zerodha Varsity Tribe is a student-only finance community for young people who think deeply about money, build together and spread financial awareness. Members connect and learn about personal finance, investing, trading and wealth building through member-led sessions, offline meetups, writing and thought-leadership workshops, and open discussions. QShala creates events for the Tribe. Its 65 members have held 18 events, reaching more than 600 students.
3. Zerodha Varsity bootcamps
The bootcamps, part of Varsity Live, are free, offline sessions led by finance experts. Each one takes a topic that can feel complicated and makes it simple, with real-world examples and hands-on learning. They travel across India, and more than 1,900 people have attended across 14 sessions.
Past bootcamps have covered value investing with Vishal Khandelwal, founder of Safal Niveshak, and a deep dive into retirement planning with Dr M. Pattabiraman, associate professor at IIT Madras and founder of freeincal. Sagar Kumar of Sensibull has taught Options 101, on understanding open interest and market signals, and Zerodha's own Bhuvanesh R has shown participants how to vibe code with AI tools.
4. In Her Interest
In Her Interest is a series of financial literacy sessions for women in India. It starts from a simple idea: if money has ever felt confusing, the way finance is usually taught may be the reason, not you. The sessions help women set aside the noise, learn what matters and build real financial confidence, whether they are just starting, starting again or already investing.
Each session is led by an expert and focused on one clear subject. Sessions start with the groundwork and build up step by step, so everyone can follow along. They also explain mutual fund categories in plain English and show how to build a balanced portfolio that grows with you.
There are no stock tips and no sales pitch, only clarity about where your money can go and how to decide where yours should.
